In the Allier, art trades have rich sources, from the Bourbons to the 20th century, a past that has modelled techniques and objects. Stone carving, pottery, wood, glass or iron work, printing and binding, so many factors, among others that one finds especially in the architecture of the region. A region to which the art craftsmen are attached, as can be seen by the frequency with which they set up their workshops in the beautiful villages of the department. These ardent artisans mirror the local art of living and heritage and they are the finest ambassadors.

Art trades have their place in history as well as in modern times. There are workshops that have become SMEs exporting to the USA, Asia or the Middle East, whose production decorates hotels, palaces, liners or castles, in France and abroad.
